Taming of the Frizz: Forgotten?

I know we've all had the feeling that we've been forgotten. I remember a time, while vacationing with Mr. Curly and his family, that Mr. Curly suddenly disappeared into the crowd. He is 6'4", this is not a man that easily disappears. But he was gone, and it was almost time to catch our boat to head back to the mainland (we were at Mackinac Island) and I panicked. I just knew I would be left behind, forgotten.

Many times in the past I've felt that God has forgotten me.
Sunday, however, we sang a song in church that has many memories for me. "His Eye Is On the Sparrow."
My best friend and I used to sing this in college, me taking the low alto, her singing in a screechy falsetto as we laughed over the church ladies we had known over the years (she's a pastor's kid too).
And while I chuckled over the memories, and struggled to keep Curly Girl and Boy in our pew, the words reached my heart:

"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender word I hear
And resting on His goodness, I loose my doubts and fears
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
For His eye is on the sparrow,
and I know He watches me.
